Is Secularism Possible?

Secularism is a hotly debated topic especially in the ongoing election season – the biggest festival of democracy. Everywhere, every now and then in news channels, Internet, etc. everyone talks of being secular. The Constitution of India, 1950 declares India a secular nation i.e. no religion would be discriminated in the eyes of the country. They never thought of people who constitute a country that they would accept secularism or not. But before all these statements the million dollar question is that Is Secularism possible in practical terms?  How could a committed idiot, I meant religious person can accepts dissimilarity, contradictions and conflicting ideas in other religions in comparison with his/her religion? Although, if a person who accepts the existence of God can accept anything irrational but still in a place like India where people don’t have a personal identity and are recognized by their religion, isn’t that an ego hurting thing to be accepted. If someone says he/she is secular, then can he leave his/her religion and start following others and keep on changing it. Can any true idiot (theist) as per his religion accept another idiot as his brother, despite knowing that his religion regards him as evil?
Religion is a proud statement for these idiots. But, it is not their fault also – past rulers, politicians, govt. has not left anything for them to be proud of. So, they are proud of their religious achievements, recognize the success of a person of his religion as his own success and at last hope that praising God and following religion will give them a comfortable life after death.
Who will tell those idiots that ‘believe in creating history, not in admiring it’! But in all these so called secularity, is there any tolerance to Atheism. Why the major focus is the religious population. Had 330 million + 1+1+1+1+1 +infinite no. of so called gods have overshadowed us? What about the so called secular constitution of India, 1950. Is that made for only religious people? When there are groups of people praising God in streets and condemning atheists, the law feels no problem with that but if a single person condemns a religion then law will require any time to go against him/her. In the govt. surveys too, there is no option for atheist. Is that justice? All the religions are against each other’s ideologies, customs, beliefs, rituals etc. but when it comes to the topic Atheism, all go against it and law doesn’t do anything? Is that justice? There are many poor people who have lost their shelter because their location coincides with the location of multipurpose projects that are to be constructed in future but when any govt. project comes in place of a religious or holy place, then hundreds of thousands of people would come in the streets protesting the government. They get tax exemptions for building and maintaining a religious trust. What welfare of the country are they doing by using the money for religious purpose so that they would be given tax exemptions? Till when we will continue to suffer for justice. Are they telling us that if we have to live in India, or fly off to any other country? We atheists are promoting scientific temper for free never demanded of these benefits from the govt. because we know that it is our moral and fundamental duty to do so. As India is a secular nation, Indian govt. would never try to raise a helping hand for the promotion of rationalists and free thought organizations because they treat every religion equally but when it comes to atheism they turn a blind eye to it.
' Law must be respected, but before that law must be respectable'. If the law neglects atheists, then how can they expect atheists to have a respect for such laws? One thing is crystal clear that secularism hasn’t meant for atheism and also that it can’t be followed whether it is the law or the citizens. There can only be pseudo-secularism.  But I can assure that we atheists would be secular in our approach. We will condemn every religion ‘equally’ with reasons until the people would become Indian not any follower of a particular religion.

Need for a homogeneous atheist nation

A homogeneous society and an atheist nation is a key for India’s brotherhood, prosperity and development. A heterogeneous society has always created a kiosk for any country. Ethnic and cultural diversity has always imposed a problem on the country economic, prosperity, development and security point of view. There is always a fight among the communities for their supremacy which is highly conflicting and often results in clashes. About half of the government’s focus is on controlling such conflicts. There is always a terror of separatists who are demanding separate nation for their own communities. Ethnic and cultural diversity is not a thing to be proud of; it is always a problem for a country. In a diverse nation especially religiously diverse, there can’t be unity among the people. There is no place for India for these people, they are all bothered about how to get rid of other communities from the country or converting them to their religion and establish their supremacy. After that also, they will not stop and create a divide amongst themselves and continue to fight. In this case, how can a nation prosper? A homogeneous society has many advantages. There is more unity in national affairs. People would be more nation-oriented than community oriented. There would be more brotherhood. For people, the nation would be supreme. No unnecessary religious expenses. No conflicts among people on grounds of religion. Everyone would have the same identity- Indian, Human and Atheist.

We have lost Sir Narendra Dabholkar for his efforts in eradicating superstition and enacting of the Maharashtra anti superstition bill. Salman Rushdie had to leave his own country due to the threats by religious leaders for his book The Satanic Verses and many more true rationalists who hadn’t thought what would be the consequences and have fought for the truth.

Atheism is lacked behind because we are not the vote banks. We couldn’t be pleased with a political party until we are convinced with their performances. Whenever there is a conflict in the nation on religious matter, whenever there is discrimination against atheists, we atheists keep silence and start adjusting with the situation. This is our fault.
It is obvious that laws couldn’t accept both theism and atheism as they are totally opposite terms. So, one must be chosen between theism and atheism. There is an urgent need for a debate in front of the law. Atheists are ready for it 24 x 7, not in a violent form, but what we are good at: by reasoning and through experiments, through their own scriptures, showing them their reality.

Marketing Divinity

The timeline of history of advanced marketing techniques are so old that they are far from our imagination. You might have seen TV advertisements which claim that you would get rid of hair loss etc. by using so and so products. But in the case of religions they claim that you would get rid of all the problems by using their products that is their holy, sacred, glorious texts. Another interesting claim made by them is “Complete Knowledge in a Single Book”. They claim of complete knowledge but in the beginning only it lacks in Disclaimer ‘The religion is not responsible for any inconvenience, death, injury or loss caused by following the path of any verse of the book’. The second is ‘Terms & Conditions Applied’. For example- It is written in almost every religious text that faith in God would lead you to a prosperous life. But the terms and conditions are not mentioned that you must be a member of a wealthy family or you must have a brilliant brain or you must indulge in criminal activities to live a prosperous life.
Religious companies are run by religious officials. The CEO of the religious company is highly responsible for increasing company’s yearly turnover and subscriptions. These posts are often lifelong. Many religious companies make their icon product i.e. texts available for free or in subsidized form. For doing so they have reasons. It somehow ensures consumers relation with the company. The company wouldn’t mind that because they have huge amount of capital and it is a kind of deception and a marketing technique. Capital used for subsidies can be recovered easily by other schemes. Although these books are rarely read by any consumer but they still have it because it is the trend of the majority.
These companies have their own USPs (Unique Selling Policy). Some of them come up schemes such as “Pay to the company and you would get the blessings for prosperity”, “Pay to the company and you would get benefits in the heaven/life after death”. They also come up with plans for shorter validity,”Pay to the company and you would get the benefits for the whole day”. These are innovative people, they often bring something new. Their act of propaganda is a great source of inspiration because if we get to learn something from the worst of the creatures we must learn it.
Very minute part of the capital is used for creating new offices in new locations and maintenance. The rest of the capital is distributed among the company officials. You can’t imagine the turnovers. If calculated Bill Gates and Carlos Slim Helu stand nowhere. Just imagine our country if these companies are listed in the National Stock Exchange, India would be the world’s largest economy.
Influenced by them, many new companies are opened in the various places in the whole world. For example – one of the newest among them is Kopimism. In the world of technology, this company has come up with a new idea that sharing information is a sacred virtue. They worship Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V as their sacred symbols. This company has a great upcoming future but it would be tough for them to compete with other old ones because it doesn’t have such attractive schemes.
The future is set for these companies until the people realize what is truth, what is he importance of conscience and rationality.

Blasphemy

People say that Atheists are egoist. Due to their ego they don’t believe in God and criticize them. I say that those who are egoist could not be termed as atheists because both of these are completely opposite terms because for an egoist, he itself is the most superior in the universe, he considers himself as God. It means that he believes in the existence of God, then how can he be called an atheist.
It is a person’s inferior mentality to believe that faith in a higher authority makes them down to earth. To have faith and devotion towards an imaginary identity is nothing but self suppression. It is a betrayal by a person against his capabilities and his conscious.
Religious belief is nothing but an irrelevant reason for prejudice and discrimination through which people doesn’t get united but actually they get fragmented into categories and subcategories. Religion just makes a person dependent and fragile. It is indeed correct to call them fragile because it is only they who cry when they cannot bare the logical reasons put forward by atheists. Can’t their religion help them out to tolerate our comments or reply correctly (which is not possible?) If theists ‘think’ (sorry, something went wrong), if theists ‘believe’ that their so-called holy, sacred, glorious scriptures are perfect und unobjectionable, then they must come forward and solve the dispute because they would have reasons for our question.

When any bad thing happens, people don’t blame their Gods. So why don’t they accuse themselves for blasphemy because it is written in their scriptures that everything happens according to their God. What happens to their religious feelings at that time?
Despite knowing just a fraction about their religion, majority of theists are ready to give up their lives for their God and to save their religion. When they say that they are fighting for their God, isn’t that Blasphemy because it is written in their scriptures about their God’s aseity.
When they walk on the streets, isn’t that blasphemy as they are walking over their God because God is omnipresent according to them and their scriptures.
Isn’t that blasphemy by them to accept scientific facts in reality because it is against their God and their scriptures?
Isn’t that blasphemy for them to take medical help at the time of danger to life instead of praying because it would be a sign for underestimation of God’s splendor?
When they give offerings to their God, isn’t that blasphemy because their God is self sufficient, according to their scriptures.
When they say about their God’s omniscience, then isn’t that blasphemy because when anything bad is about to happen, their God know it prior, but still he do nothing which becomes a question for his holiness and his separation from sin.
When it comes to them, it is not blasphemy but when it comes to us it is.
When they, their God, and religion can’t tolerate our righteous views, it is their problem, we can’t do anything. Why don’t they ask their so-called most powerful almighty to give them the power to overrule our objections instead of crying?

God fear and Theism : Threats to the nation

Religion is something through which people are segregated among their brothers. It is the religion through which the people perceive their identity. This identity is kept as high that the value of nation for a citizen diminishes. Indians follow a ‘federal’ structure of worship or in other words the fear of God ranges at different levels. Let us see how-
The centre belongs to the established religions and Gods. There are six major religions in India. The lower tiers are generally the claimed reincarnation of Gods but there are still independent candidates sorry Gods.
Then comes the second tier – The miraculous self proclaimed godmans. These are of two types – the first category includes the urban ones. They are often telecasted on news channels, advertisements, may have official websites and definitely have bank accounts through which they earn millions through donations. These have overseas connections too. The second category is of the rural people. These are of maniac kinds and publicity seekers. These are always found doing silly acts or claim to do such as walking on coals, producing sacred ash from thin air, exploding stones with "mental power," levitating, or turning water into blood, psychic surgery, inexhaustible oil lamps, materialization of holy ash, and pyrokinesis, reading the serial numbers from currency in sealed envelopes, materializing objects, predicting future events, converting liquids from one kind to another, and walking on water, Convert wine into blood. Move or bend a solid object using psychokinetic power, Disappear from the negative when photographed etc. the lists keep on growing up. These self proclaim Gods claim that they have miraculous powers and it is due to which they are able to carry out those acts. They also claim to heal people. They have a less turnover as compared to the urban people. Although they are cheaters but one thing is for sure that they are good entertainers. Their acts are fascinating. But I have pity over these people. They are just like the majority of the India’s upcoming generation – don’t know how to build up their career. They could have tried and get a job in a circus. These people are generally confined to a village but may expand their business to other villages too. These are innovative Gods; every now and then they keep on increasing their miracles for their publicity stunts.
But there is still one more category of God fear and finance I still left. In India how can we miss out statues that drink milk or something like that? Devotees’ turnout in huge numbers and the opportunists keep on extracting funds on behalf of the statues. Sometimes the opportunities show the God fear by conducting acts which the devotees believe to be inauspicious and then they extract money to get a solution of it. There is a provision in The Indian Penal Code in section 508 for acts related to Divine Displeasure but it gets nullified in front of the hampering religious feelings according to IPC 295A. Whether anybody dies or gets severely injured but the religious feelings must not get affected. There is also a duty mentioned in the Constitution of India in article 51A (h) to develop the scientific temper, humanism and the spirit of inquiry and reform. But this duty also fades in front of the rights. It is the tendency of the majority of Indians to prefer the rights in front of duties.
Let us know how the God fear converts into money. Staring off with the rural people – They are helpless people living a miserable life struggling for almost everything. They believe that faith in religion and God could someday change their lives. So they get easily fooled by them who promise them for their betterment. They start considering him to be a Messiah – The God. But every time they get cheated.
In the urban areas, people are too much busy in their work and want to get rid of their troubles instantly. In this case come one miraculous is in high demand who promises them for providing their relief and give a break from all the tensions of life. They have different techniques to attract people.
In case of the statue, there is a different reason. The theists themselves become skeptic when they get tired searching for evidences, so anything that comes in front of them, they start believing it to be as a sign for the existence of God and honesty of their scriptures.
And of course at last, the first class Gods. These are just puppets which are controlled by their followers only. They are just meant for hiding their failures in the name of inferiority. These type of Gods are non existing in real lives but are the richest in terms of capital.
The problem increases when the religions step into the politics and give rise to communalism. When communalism is encouraged, it results into the bloods of thousands of innocent, hardworking people. Majority of the theists don’t know about their religions. But they use their religion to suppress and dominate others. They try to influence their own ideologies on others by force and there comes terrorism. The ones which have a deep relation to political parties don’t get affected by Prevention of Terrorism Act. In India, four out of the six major religions are militant and communal and always possess a threat to society. These four religions and their subgroups are responsible for all the communal riots in India. The other two are ‘waste’ religions. Their books and the God were the masters of explain the topic that How to waste life doing nothing in order to liberate your soul. These ideas are not respected by their followers also and they keep on living their lives happily but do follow the rituals because it is their identity.
Our politics, votes, ideas, hobbies, interests, views and everything is categorized according to the religious views. What religions have given to India – shame, guilt, terrorism, communalism, riots, disunity, and hatred among the brothers but still the people say that it is ‘good’ to be religious. If this is good then we are happy to remain the worst people. They say that if you would become an Atheist then you would go to a wrong path and get burnt in the hell. We Atheists say that it is far better than to do hell with your life. Who fears your God and his hell! For us only the conscience matters.

The Indian God Factory

Gods and religion play the most superior role in the lives of the majority of the people of India. It is not important that the God have to be historical or have to be mentioned in the scriptures of an ‘established’ religion. A god could be anyone, could be created at any time, any place without reason but there would be no discount in the amount of dedication and worship. Therefore it was never clear especially in India what is/are God and religions means actually. Let me clear it for you
Religion(s)is/ are the set of ideologies used by the group of people to promote their irrelevant laws, culture, prejudices, self benefits, aims etc. or it is an inappropriate reason used by inferiors, fragile-minded, foolish, weak people to escape from truth and by the needy as a hope. God is a mascot for religions to increase the popularity of religions.
When people follow God, the so-called superior, they do not worship actually. They use it as a means of hiding their cowardice. In other words, the people who don’t dare to face the realities of world and escape from it are religious and God fearing.
But from where and how these religions and Gods are generated? Let us understand the evolution of religions. It was the tendency of humans that when they didn’t knew what to do and they didn’t found out anyone or anything which could satisfy their questions and curiosity, they started believing that there is/are superior & everything happens according to him/her. But those idiots never realized the true potential of the human beings and started co-relating failures to many irrelevant principles and stories to hide their foolishness. All these ended and gave rise to religion(s) and God their mascot. The second possible case- Like Chanakya mentioned in his Arthashastra i.e. to portray someone miraculous so that the enemy’s soldiers resist to participate in the war due to fear. Many of the Gods could have been created by this method. The third case – Earlier societies were autocratic, it means that there was no right to speech, expression etc. It means that the kings could have forced the writers of that time to write extraordinary for them which after many generations portray them as God.
This God factory runs on the tendency, unnecessary need and idiotic selfish supports of those whom I call as kafirs, the ‘non- believers’ of the truth. Those who are/were intelligent rejected God, religion and the ideologies and focused on what is right – right according to the conscience. This factory can only be stopped by these people. The responsibility lies with them. The future of India lies with them!
